Royal Wedding CelebrationsThe Royal Wedding party was in full swing at Kirk Smeaton, with Lions class holding a 'Royal Garden Party' and Eagles making their own party memorabilia, including a lifesize Kate and Wills who were the guests of honour at the village's weekend celebrations. Harvest Appeal - Sponsored Show JumpOur sponsored show jumping was a huge success. Everyone who took part had a lot of fun (even the teachers). A big thank you to Mrs Fisher for organising the event and to you for helping us raise the amazing amount of £492. Guide Dogs for the BlindTerry and his dog Ashley visited the whole school to share in our Money Week. Guide Dogs for the Blind is a fantastic charity, did you know it costs about £40,000 to train each dog? Stratford Upon Avon, 2010Children from Eagles and Lions class were invited to perform at the Courtyard Theatre in Stratford by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Shakespeare Festival Kirk Smeaton chosen to perform in Stratford!Kirk Smeaton children were chosen to perform at a festival celebrating the works of William Shakespeare. We staged our version of Shakespeare's As You Like It, told from the point of view of Rosalind, at Stratford-upon-Avon's Courtyard Theatre in July. |
